Know Your Mouth

Privacy

What this site collects

Almost nothing — no cookies, no ad networks, no profile of you. Here is the whole picture, including the parts we would rather were different.

This site collects about as little as a website can while still knowing whether anyone read it. No cookies are set, no advertising networks are present, and nothing you do here is sold or shared with data brokers. What follows is the detail, including what changed and when.

Who is responsible

Know Your Mouth operates this site and is the data controller for it. For anything on this page — including a request to see, correct or delete data — write to privacy@knowyourmouth.com.

Analytics

We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves on our own server rather than handing your visit to a third-party advertising company.

  • No cookies are set. Not for analytics, not for anything else. This is why the site has no cookie consent banner — there is nothing to consent to.
  • Your IP address is not stored. It is converted into a one-way hash on our server to count unique visits for a single day, and the address itself is discarded.
  • No cross-site tracking. Umami cannot follow you to other websites, and does not try to build a profile of you.
  • What is recorded is aggregate: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, screen size, and which site linked you here.

We also do not keep web server access logs for this site, so there is no second copy of your IP address sitting in a log file.

Third parties your browser contacts

Loading any page here causes your browser to make requests to these parties. We are listing them because a privacy page that only mentions the convenient ones is not worth reading.

  • Fonts — no longer a third party. This site used to load its typefaces from Google, which transmitted your IP address to Google on every page load. As of 8 August 2026 the fonts are served from this site's own server, so that transfer no longer happens at all. Nothing about the typography reaches Google.
  • Cloudflare — provides DNS for this domain and forwards mail sent to our addresses. Cloudflare does not proxy the website itself.
  • ClickBank — only if you click the affiliate link on our ProDentim review. At that point you have left this site and their privacy policy applies, not ours. Nothing is shared with them unless you click.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, we hold your email address for the purpose of sending the newsletter, and for nothing else. It is not sold, rented, or shared. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.

As of the date below, the signup form is not yet connected to a mailing provider, so no addresses are being collected at all. This page will be updated — naming the provider — before that changes.

What we never do

  • No advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or social media trackers.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data. There is no arrangement under which this could happen.
  • No fingerprinting, and no attempt to identify you personally.
  • We do not knowingly collect anything from children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to processing, or ask for a copy in portable form. In practice we hold very little: unless you have subscribed to the newsletter or emailed us, we almost certainly hold nothing that identifies you.

Write to privacy@knowyourmouth.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes to this page

If what we collect changes, this page changes first, with the date below updated. We will not quietly start collecting something and reword this page afterwards.

Last updated: 8 August 2026 — fonts moved off Google and onto this server.
